Bed bugs take to mattresses of all types, even those that provide no inner workings to infest such as this Tempur-Pedic. Encasement can help contain an existing infestation, but does little to keep bed bugs from establishing in our experience.
The "spot" on this mattress is a juvenile bed bug. The first instar stage or "hatch-lings" are much smaller...so small they are easily overlooked.
